Some ward YW Leaders have asked how they can help their YW get ready for camp. Here are a few ideas…
Lice checks will be July 22nd and August 5th. Please choose someone to check your girls in your ward. If they do not pass lice checks, please have them do a home treatment and contact me so we can put them on the watch list.
*Hold a fundraiser. You may hold one fundraiser per year to offset the cost of camp. The cost of camp this year is $100 per camper. You should pay this directly to your ward or branch. For official church policy on fundraising please click here.
*Make treat buckets to hold all the snacks they bring to camp.
*Make sure they all have a ride to and from camp. We start at 9AM on Monday and end at 9AM on Friday. Please pick them up on time.
* Visit your girls at camp. Even if you can only come for a few hours, the girls would love to see you & you can get a feeling for how they are doing.
***For visiting ward YW leaders -
- You must have your clearances on file with the stake to enter camp.
- If you plan to spend the night, you may sleep in the nurse's cabin or in the Crockett site. Only stake-appointed level leaders may camp in the sites with the girls. This helps us provide consistent leadership.
- If you are not spending the night, please sign out at the lodge after the evening activity. This helps the girls stay on schedule & get to bed on time.
- No children between the ages of 2 and 12 and no young men ages 12-18 may visit camp.
